Sparrow Beach Lodge stands today as an amazing reminder of an earlier era.
Then known as Vanomi Hotel, Sparrow Beach Lodge was erected in 1910 by Joe Jackson, and could entertain over 160 guests.
In the 1930s it was run by W.H.O. (Pop) Mercer, with his sons Wally and Dalton. It was then purchased by Otto Roehl, who operated it until 1948 when he retired.
Mary and David Gilinsky owned the lodge from 1948-1964 and at that time renamed it Sparrow Beach Lodge. From 1964-1972, Mr. and Mrs. Socha took over management. It has been owned and operated since 1972 by Peter (since deceased) and Walentina Rodak.
